Neither derouging nor passivation are possible without cleaning: a professional cleaning operation is the basic requirement for all further operations. ATECO cleans with alkaline chemicals that will not attack the system; they can be neutralised and disposed of without harming the environment.

New doesn't mean clean

New systems also have to be thoroughly cleaned before passivation. Why? The pipes are contaminated by a layer of dust/graphite and oil during the installation work. This makes it impossible to passivate the steel surface effectively. What is more, the layer of dirt is a breeding-ground for bacteria which have to be removed at all costs. So when a derouging operation is planned, the system is also pre-cleaned so as to prepare it optimally for the main cleaning process that follows.

Alkaline pre-cleaning – flushing –
derouging/passivation – flushing ......

that's how the cleaning procedure runs. Already during the process of alkaline pre-cleaning, the whole system is flushed through in a closed circuit.
