Pickling

In the case of stubborn stains on corrosion-free surfaces, e.g. in process plants for chemical production, traditional cleaners are sometimes not enough to remove such stains. A pickling process can be used to strip off the top layer of metal thereby thoroughly cleaning the surface.

Pickle - Flush - Passivate - Flush...

First the surface is wetted with a cleaning solution containing hydrofluoric acid using a spray and circulation method. Then it is rinsed thoroughly with water and passivated again with an oxidising agent.  We have also developed our own „soft“ pickling procedure not involving hydrofluoric acid in order to remove light corrosion marks or annealing colours on weld seams.
