Electropolishing of your systems on your site and on our premises.

Production systems, vessels, and system components that have been in service for years will experience deterioration of their original surface quality over time. Scratches, furrows, pores, corrosion spots, wear & tear, and an enlargement of the conventional surface can occur. These changes typically result in deterioration of the surface quality. For example, the quality drops from the original RA<0.6 to RA>0.8, which no longer meets specifications.

Changes due to rust, rouging, blacking, and calcification also represent significant deterioration of the surface. These changes often result in an increase in corrosion tendencies and a great increase in susceptibility to deposits, biofilm formation, and layer build-up.

Reconditioning affected surfaces is usually a better option than purchasing new equipment for a variety of reasons: downtime, cost, environmental impact, efficiency, production loss, validation, the opportunity to incorporate system improvements, and more. 

The subsequent electropolishing is a deliberate and precisely controlled removal of the metallic surface as well as cleaning by electrolyte (see: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qleSYh11b-U). The system or component is then specially cleaned and passivated in accordance with our processes to create a surface that meets pharmaceutical standards.

Before electropolishing, the affected surface must be restored to its original quality using a special grinding process. To achieve this, the affected surfaces are restored by specially trained and qualified colleagues using the necessary grits and core chips. This work can be carried out both in the production area (zone) and in our workshop. The entire process of maintenance, preparation, or repair of a stationary or mobile system is described in advance using a GMP-compliant SOP and documented in our GMP-compliant protocols. Our preparatory work includes risk assessment, on-site inspection, consultation, analysis, and corresponding recommendations for our partners and customers.
